About The Studio
studio.GDMC — where community creates.
Five thousand four hundred square feet of making space, ten kilns, and a hall built to hold a hundred and ten makers. Our studio is not a factory — it is a gathering place where tiles are fired and bonds are formed.
The Making Floor
studio.GDMC spans 5,400 square feet — an industrial floor given over entirely to the hand. Ten kilns stand in a row along the firing wall, together with the capacity to fire 3,000 tiles every month. From brick to glaze, every stage of a monumental mural happens under one roof.
The Gathering Hall
Seating for 110 persons makes the studio a venue built for community engagement and large group projects. Schools, neighbours, and colleagues gather around shared tables to press, glaze, and place their own tiles — turning every commission into a communal act.
The Living Archive
Every tile fired here joins a growing record of hands and kilns: the murals of the Mural Archive, the vessels of the studio, and the many thousands of community tiles that carry the fingerprints of Singapore.
